Laminate Flooring Maintenance:

  • Regular Cleaning: Sweep or vacuum to remove dirt and debris.
  • Damp Mopping: Use a damp mop with a laminate-specific cleaner.
  • Spot Cleaning: Clean up spills promptly to prevent staining.
  • Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Use mild cleaners, avoid abrasive products.
  • Furniture Protection: Place felt pads under furniture legs.
  • Use Area Rugs: Protect high-traffic areas.
  • Avoid Excessive Sunlight: Use curtains or blinds.
  • Trim Pet Nails: Prevent scratches.
  • Avoid Standing Water: Wipe up spills promptly.
  • Regular Inspection: Check for damage periodically.

NOTE: Laminate is typically more sensitive to moisture than vinyl or engineered hardwood flooring, so it's crucial to avoid excessive water during cleaning. Use a damp (not wet) mop and dry the floor promptly to prevent water damage.

  • Use Area Rugs: Protect high-traffic zones.
  • Avoid Excessive Moisture: Hardwood can be sensitive to water.
  • Sunlight Protection: Use curtains or UV-resistant coatings.

NOTE: Engineered hardwood is more water-resistant than solid wood but still susceptible to moisture. Be cautious with water and ensure it's dried promptly to prevent warping or damage to the wood.

  • Damp Mopping: Use a damp mop with vinyl-specific cleaner.
  • Spot Cleaning: Quickly clean spills to prevent staining.
  • Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Use mild cleaners suitable for vinyl.
  • Furniture Protection: Employ felt pads under furniture legs.
  • Use Area Rugs or Mats: Protect high-traffic areas.
  • Moisture Tolerance: Vinyl is waterproof; just dry any spills.
  • Sunlight Tolerance: Vinyl resists fading from sunlight.
  • Regular Inspection: Check for damage periodically.

NOTE: Vinyl is highly water-resistant and durable. While it can tolerate more moisture than laminate or hardwood, it's essential to clean up spills to prevent slipping and maintain a safe walking surface.
